India Wins T20 Series 2-1 Against West Indies with Dominant 60-Run Victory
IND vs WI: The Indian women’s cricket team defeated the West Indies 2-1 in the T20 series. In the third and decisive match, India achieved a resounding 60-run victory. Smriti Mandhana’s 77 runs and Richa Ghosh’s 54 runs were key to India’s victory.

After suffering a humiliating defeat in the ODI series against Australia, the Indian women’s cricket team has returned to its winning ways. In the third and decisive T20 match against the West Indies, Team India recorded a dominant 60-run win, taking the series 2-1. The match, played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, saw India bat first, scoring 217 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In response, the West Indies managed only 157 runs, losing by 60 runs.
India won the first match of the series, but the West Indies leveled the series with a 9-wicket victory in the second match. Therefore, the team that won today’s match would take the series. In the decisive match, India put up a collective effort to achieve a spectacular victory.
The West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first. India did not get off to a great start, with opening batter Uma Chetri dismissed for a duck in the second ball of the match. However, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues took responsibility, putting on 98 runs for the second wicket.
Smriti’s Hattrick Half-century
The pair’s explosive batting helped India score 99 runs in the first 10 overs. Smriti, who played aggressively from the start, reached her 30th half-century in just 27 balls. This was her third half-century in this series. In the end, Smriti faced 47 balls, scoring 77 runs with 13 boundaries and 1 six before being dismissed. Jemimah also made 39 runs before getting out.
Richa’s Thunderous Batting
After the fall of these two wickets, Raghavi and Richa Ghosh launched a flurry of boundaries. While Richa dominated the West Indies bowlers, Raghavi provided excellent support. Raghavi remained unbeaten with 31 runs from 22 balls, while Richa scored 54 runs from 21 balls, including 3 boundaries and 5 massive sixes, before getting out in the final over.
West Indies’ 60-run Loss
In response, West Indies quickly lost their first wicket. However, captain Hayley Matthews and experienced batter Deandra Dottin kept the team’s hopes alive with a solid partnership, scoring 37 runs together. But left-arm spinner Radha Yadav broke the partnership by dismissing Matthews. Later, young pacer Titas Sadhu removed Dottin, further denting the West Indies’ chances. Shanelle Henry briefly gave Team India some concern by scoring 43 runs off 16 balls, but her dismissal by Renuka Singh gave India a sigh of relief. After that, the West Indies’ lower order collapsed, and the team was all out for 157 runs in 20 overs, losing by 60 runs.
